Where to Buy Anime Figures in Akihabara

Akihabara Figure Shops: AmiAmi, ASTOP & Mandarake

Hunting for an anime figure on your own or with friends? Start with AmiAmi and ASTOP inside Radio Kaikan: one mixes new and pre-owned stock, the other is a maze of collectors' display cases. Then head to Mandarake for prize figures, robot toys and tokusatsu. If figures are the whole point of the afternoon, add AmiAmi's separate Figure Tower nearby.

Where should I start for figures and used items?

AmiAmi on Radio Kaikan's 4F is the first stop. Figures share the floor with character merchandise, model kits and trading cards, so friends collecting different things have somewhere to start together.

AmiAmi's Radio Kaikan shop fills 4F: figures, character goods, model kits and trading cards, plus used items and buyback (counter 11:30-18:30). The branch is at Sotokanda 1-15-16. AmiAmi's online stock and prices differ from the shop's.

Where can I browse collectors' cases?

Go to ASTOP on Radio Kaikan's 2F. Its rental showcases bring different sellers' figures and collectibles into one shop; the website lets you search by product name or case number.

This is the rummaging stop: scan case after case for figures, miniature cars and character goods. Searching for a particular series? Use ASTOP's case search before going, then keep the case number on your phone. A search hit shows a listing, not that the item is still there.

Where should I look for robot toys and tokusatsu?

Mandarake Complex separates its toy floors by interest: prize figures and American toys on 6F, tokusatsu and Chogokin on 7F, and anime-girl and robot figures on 8F.

Choose a floor before heading up this eight-storey shop at Sotokanda 3-11-12. For older collectibles, this is the stop to add after Radio Kaikan. Manga collectors can peel off to 3F while you browse the toy floors. Games are in the separate Complex 2 building at Sotokanda 3-12-2, on 3F.

Is AmiAmi Figure Tower the same as the Radio Kaikan shop?

No. Figure Tower is a separate branch at Sotokanda 1-15-3, open 10:00–21:00. Add AmiAmi's Figure Tower for a figure-only outing: eight floors of figures from 1F to 8F, with action figures and character model kits on 3F and Gunpla on 4F. Keep the Radio Kaikan shop as your starting point if the group also wants trading cards, character goods or used items.

What's a simple route for one afternoon?

Start after 11:00 at Radio Kaikan: AmiAmi on 4F, then ASTOP on 2F. Continue to Mandarake after its noon opening. Add Figure Tower while you're still near the station if figures are your priority.
