Tokugawa-era garden relics

The Imperial Palace East National Gardens in Tokyo offer a serene escape into history. As a former part of Edo Castle, the garden preserves significant stone walls, moats, and historic gates from the Tokugawa shogunate era. Opened to the public in 1968, it features a traditional Ninomaru Japanese garden, expansive lawns, and woodland groves representing Japan’s prefectures.
