Okamoto’s living studio

The Taro Okamoto Memorial Museum presents the artist's life and work within his original Minami-Aoyama home and studio. Designed by modernist architect Junzō Sakakura in 1954, the museum retains the intimate and lived-in feel of Okamoto’s workspace. Visitors can see paintings and sculptures densely displayed in rooms filled with personal objects, as well as a vibrant sculpture garden in the courtyard.
