Historic temple gateway

Sensō-ji, Tokyo's oldest Buddhist temple, dates back to 628 and is dedicated to Kannon. Visitors enter through Kaminarimon Gate, marked by its iconic red lantern, and proceed along Nakamise-dori, a bustling 250-meter shopping street lined with traditional stalls. The temple precinct houses the Hōzōmon Gate, a five-story pagoda, and the main hall—all rebuilt post-WWII in modern materials.
