This Privacy Policy explains how Ouroboros, Inc. ("vibe," "we," "us") handles your personal information in the vibe app and on whatsthevibe.io. We wrote down what really happens, not what sounds nice. If the app doesn't match this page, that's a bug. Tell us and we'll fix it.

1. What We Collect

2. How Ask Vibe Remembers

Your memory setting controls what sticks around.

Logging out or deleting your account erases recent questions from your phone. Deleting your account also erases notes and reports from our computers.

Helping improve Ask

This is separate from memory. After we show you the notice, review is on by default unless you turn it off. Tapping “got it” only closes the notice. The vibe team and its approved AI tools can review your questions, replies, the places shown, tool steps, feedback, and basic timing and usage details. This helps us find wrong answers and decide what to improve. These copies are private, not public.

Go to Settings › Memory & Privacy › help improve ask to turn review off. That stops new review copies and erases past copies from the review store. You can also erase past reviews while leaving review on. If you are offline, this phone stops sending review copies right away; connect and retry to finish the change on our computers and other devices. Fresh Start chats are never included. We do not copy your saved library, old chat notes, or precise device location into the review store. Anything you type in a question or receive in a reply can still appear there.

We stop showing review copies after 30 days and remove expired copies within the next hour. Deleting your account erases them too. Backups cycle out on their own schedule. Review copies are kept apart from ordinary usage statistics and are not used to train AI models.

3. What Ask Vibe Sends Out

vibe doesn't write its own answers. It sends your question to an outside AI company, and that company writes the answer.

Your question, the messages from your current chat, and roughly where you are can go with it. With the two remembering choices, recent chat notes, the kinds of places you like, names of places you saved, and foods you can't eat can go too.

We don't send your name, your email, or your Apple ID.

If you pick Remember everything, we also send personal things you typed in yourself. Your partner's name, for example, and what they like and don't like.

We use other AI companies to write and translate the info about places. Those only ever see place info. Nothing about you.

4. Where You Are

Normally vibe only checks where you are while the app is open. That's how it sorts places by how close they are to you. If you allowed location, vibe can also notice when you spend time at a place you already saved, so your visit history can build itself. That check watches places you saved, not everywhere you go.

Sharing your spot with friends is off unless you turn it on. If you turn it on:

5. How We Use Your Information

We use what we collect to:

If you're in the EEA, the UK, or somewhere with a similar law: our legal bases are performing our contract with you (running the service you asked for), our legitimate interests (security, improvement, support), your consent (location, contacts, notifications, and other optional features - you can withdraw it anytime), and compliance with legal obligations.

Showing and storing an event pass

If you add a pass to Apple Wallet, its name, photo, event details and admission reference are included in the copy on your device. If you show it at a venue, staff can see those details to check admission. We do not use the photo for face recognition or biometric identity verification. Do not share the pass publicly.

We retain the accepted name, photo reference and entry terms with your RSVP so later profile edits do not silently change an issued pass. Cancelling keeps the record in your private history. Deleting your account removes the server-side RSVP records; copies already in Apple Wallet are not remotely erased and should be removed from the device. Normal backup retention still applies.

6. What We Don't Do

7. Who Else Sees It

We pay a few outside companies to help run vibe. Each one only gets the piece it needs to do its job:

None of them get the whole picture of who you are, and none of them may use your info to advertise to you. Want the current list of who we use? Email privacy@whatsthevibe.io and we'll send it.

Beyond these providers, we would share information only: with authorities when the law genuinely requires it, or to protect someone's safety or our rights; or as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets - in which case this policy keeps applying to your info until you're told otherwise.

8. Where Your Stuff Is Kept

On public discovery pages, when website analytics is enabled, we use PostHog in the United States to understand page visits and selected actions, such as opening a guide or clicking TestFlight. We do not send form contents, search text, account IDs or private share links to this analytics service, and we do not record browsing sessions. PostHog uses your IP address, browser information and a daily changing salt to create a temporary identifier; its analytics SDK does not save cookies or browser storage. A website click does not tell us whether you installed the app.

We respect Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals. You can also turn off website analytics on this browser or turn it back on. These choices save a preference on your browser, not an identifier. JavaScript and browser storage must be available to save that preference.

We are a company in the United States, and your info sits on computers in Asia and the United States run by the providers above. Private things you type in, like your partner's name, stay locked on your phone instead of going to us at all - unless you pick Remember everything (see section 3).

Wherever your info travels, this policy travels with it. If you're in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, we rely on safeguards like the EU Standard Contractual Clauses where the law requires them for transfers.

9. How Long We Keep It

When you delete your account, the taste patterns vibe learned from you are folded into an anonymous, city-wide average that can't be traced back to you. Backups cycle out on their own schedule.

10. Erasing Your Account

Go to Settings › Account › Delete Account.

Delete Account starts a tracked request. If a step cannot finish, the app says deletion is pending and keeps a retry receipt on your phone. It only says finished after your sign-in account is deleted and the account-linked stores we can check have been cleaned.

This covers your saved places, what vibe learned about your taste, your chat notes, your reports, your friends, your profile photos, and your shared spot. It also clears the account data saved on your phone and stops notifications to your device. You can't undo it.

A device with a sign-in token that was already issued may be able to write until that token expires. Old usage reports may follow a provider’s retention rules or hold an earlier, unlinked copy until our team cleans or rebuilds them. Forms you sent before creating an account are not linked by your account ID. Want us to check any of those, send you a copy of your info, or erase just one thing? Email privacy@whatsthevibe.io.

11. Your Rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you your info, correct it, delete it, hand you a copy, stop using parts of it, or take back a consent you gave. Email privacy@whatsthevibe.io and we'll answer within 30 days, or tell you why we need longer. We may ask you to prove it's your account first, and the law sometimes lets us keep specific things (like purchase records).

12. Kids

vibe is not for people under 17. We don't knowingly collect info from anyone under 17, and if we learn we have, we'll delete it. If you think a minor has an account, email privacy@whatsthevibe.io.

13. Keeping It Safe

Your info travels encrypted, access to it is restricted, and our providers hold their own security certifications. No system on the internet is perfectly secure, so we won't pretend ours is. But if something goes wrong and your info is exposed, we'll tell you and the relevant authorities without undue delay, as the law requires, and fix the hole.

If you see something suspicious on your account, tell us right away at privacy@whatsthevibe.io.

14. If This Page Changes

If we change how we handle your info, we'll change this page and the date at the top. For big changes we'll also tell you in the app or by email before they take effect.
